Fixed in this release: BBmaps now is able to do a local search, even if the location of the device is not based on GPS data but based on cell towers.

Installing as we speak. We'll see how this one works out. .656 seems pretty stable and battery life isn't so bad, but could be better.

there is a new official release that can be downloaded from vodafone germany, 9700 5.0.1446/5.0.0.862, see the link below:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...e-germany.html
Installed it myself and used so far without any problems. Much faster than 770 for example I can browse through photos instantly now.

It looks like they removed the automatic "Bedside Mode" when charging in .862 when I thought they just got it right in .770 with the option to only automatically enable it during certain times...Anyone else notice this?

Default Problem with Blackberry Web Browser in this build

I went to this build as it works great with Slingplayer, but I notice when I am using the Blackbery Web Browser, I cannot back up one screen at a time anymore. Instead, when I try to back up one screen, I am kicked out of the browser. Help!

Auto Bedside Mode when charging works fine for me...just as it did in previous versions. I haven't noticed a difference.

You probably have moisture damage to the keyboard.

And this has nothing to do with this thread.

Bedside mode is completely missing for me. I did the Shrink-A-OS and then loaded it with Master Control Program.

John, do you know of any files I could have removed by accident that would have stripped out Bedside Mode? Clock and alarm and all that is there and working, just no options/references to Bedside Mode

No idea. I haven't bothered with removing cod's on the 9700 since it has so much memory already. It's just not worth the hassle.

This OS is no longer beta. Thread here:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-new-post.html

The back button works fine for me. Are you holding the back button? That will close the browser. Just tap the back key.
