Default Bold 9900 selling out

Please Login to Remove!

I just orders a 9900 for my boss here in Waterloo and I've been told that it will be a 2-3 week delay as there's a huge backorder with Rogers.

I'm hoping this means demand is high, and it wasn't a matter of RIM/providers not stocking enough initially.

There was a HUGE number of them stolen from a warehouse locally in your area, ready for distribution, so that could explain your local backlog.

There's no backlog here.

Yeah a warehouse in Mississauga which is about 45 minutes from Waterloo. I heard that it was 3 pallets (total of only 2,500) of 9810's

I deal with someone who deals with a rep who sells for rogers and the line given to me was "due to the popular demand there's a 2-3 week backlog" and it seems like this has been since last week.

Now of course I work at a university, and there's over 600 cell phone users... so we could have had a high demand locally on campus or even within the city I guess.

Just saw a headline on one of the blogs that T-Mobile online is sold out. I don't have a clue whether that means really good sales or T-Mobile just didn't plan well.

Why would people want to steal a Blackberry with a crappy battery life?

This phone is high demand. I'm in the industry and I'm surprised by how fast they're going out the door.

Might have something to do with Kim Kardashian tweeting how much she loves her new Bold lol

Also...T-Mobile is either sold out or they're busy fixing the typo on the back of all their boxes.

On my work 9900 (data only) I only sent email's and BBM's...I get 3 days of battery life out of it if I keep it on 2G.

On my personal 9900 (voice/data/internet/bbm etc) I can get through the day with moderate use. If I'm browsing the web on HSPA+ though it starts draining fast...but downloading music at 600kb/sec while on the road right onto your phone is worth plugging it into the car charger for.

It always cracks me up when people complain about battery life on a smartphone.. Most all of my Androids were lucky to make it a day, some were lucky to make it 8 whole hours.. My iPhone 4 made it through the day but so has my 9900 so far...

Every smart phone on the planet has battery issues.. I mean really? They are mini powerful computers that run on small batteries...

If battery life is a concern then people should opt for a dumb phone and avoid a smart phone like it has the plague..

Just curious what that's about. I've been out of touch for last two weeks. Anyone can post a link, I'd be obliged.

t-mobile.com was listing the 9900 as sold out. I think they have since corrected the problem.

Ok, lazy me did a search: T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9900 shows 1.2GHz DUAL Core on retail box | PocketBerry

I hadn't noticed, but there is a new specification plastered on the back of my box over the specifications/features list printed on the box, to correct the error. Funny.

^ anyone have the original box without the sticky print out covering the "Dual Core 1.2Ghz cpu" print and want to ship to me in Canada for $10? I'd love to have it for laughs.
