Default White Pearl?

Please Login to Remove!

So is anyone gonna ditch their "Black" Blackberry Pearl for the White one that is suppose to come out around Valentines Day? I think the concept of having diffrent colored phones is cool, but when will it stop. Will they come out with a Blue Pearl around the 4th of July?

Think it would be a total waste. they should just offer differnt part colors so we can customize our BB's even more! I'd like to have a black and white BB!

Yeah.....why not just different colored plastic covers instead of a whole new phone?

I'd go for red around july. but let's just change out the covers, not the whole unit.

yeah I can't just jump into another color due to the hassle of getting my programs back that are dedicated to a specific PIN.

Gack! I would fear the smudgies on a white one, but it might be OK for some people out there.

Supply and demand!

I disagree...I think the demand would be in swapping housings rather then buying a whole new unit.

Anyway, I'm assuming it will be an 'iPodesque' finish? I think it will be nice, but I wouldn't buy it.

the answer to your question is "NO"

it's common sense that people read too much into things!

You misunderstood me, I'm saying that people will want, and pay more for other colored phones, just like the pink razr. If someone owns a black pearl already, and wants a white one, they are going to go out and buy it for $300, and probably sell their old one to someone else. The supply of the new phones will be lower, and the demand will be higher than said demand, which is why it will be more expensive, and people will pay it.

I agree with you that most people that already own a pearl would rather have interchangable housings than to buy a whole new phone, but which do you think would be easier for RIM to have competition with, someone else making cheaper housings, or entire phones? The latter won't happen, the former definitely would.

and sorry for straying off subject.

I think the buttons would need to be swapped too, if anyone did make a new body for the phone..

Folks. Only warning. No more thread crapping. Feel free to discuss the topic in the original post, but all the unnecessary remarks and borderline flaming are getting rediculous, and are being removed.

SanFran, I love your prototype, you post the best pix!

but I would never buy a phone just 'cause its pink or white or whatever! I think the t-mo version of the pearl looks best. cingy's racing stripe up the middle of the keys just looks too goofy for me. but I'd consider a shnazzy colored housing if it became available.

Actually, most of the 195 million U.S. cell phone users buy on appearance and the coolness factor.

I could see a white Pearl being attractive to maybe the female market, but not anyone else. I dunno, but I can't picture a Marine Corp Master Sergeant, Arnold, or a WWF superstar talking on a white Pearl.

I guess maybe a pimp might like it too.

If RIM is coming out with it, and during Valentine's Day, seems they are targeting it toward the female crowd.

That brings to mind, how solid is the info that RIM is coming out with a white Pearl and during Valentine's?
