Default Just got my replacement, what to do with...

Please Login to Remove!

with my old blackberry? I got the new one...

My current one has glitches and it laggs and certain stuff don't open..

Got a new one from T-Mobile but then again.. my questions are

1) How do I import my entire contacts to my SimCard so I can load them up in my new Blackberry?

2) Will I have my current email/pin if I take out my battery/simcard for my old berry and put it into my new one that came in?

3) Why do I get the feeling that this one that came in the mail is a used fuc*ing phone?

Switch device wizard should transfer contacts.

Or if you use Outlook, sync the old one and then the new one. Or GoogleSync would also work.

And make sure you wipe the old one clean before you send it back.

OK - you are excited about your BlackBerry. And you like to curse. Both high school like trends. And you are extremely IMPATIENT.

So first, CALM DOWN.

Now, listen. Pay attention.

Map out what you want to do.

1 - you want to move your data from one BB to another.
Do you have Desktop Manager installed on a PC? If not, they go install Desktop Manager
2 - Start Desktop Manager and launch the SWITCH DEVICE WIZARD. Follow the prompts. Precisely. DO NOT RUSH, HURRAY OR CURSE.
3 - When the Switch Device Wizard is complete, your new BB should have your data.

AFTER THAT IS DONE, WE CAN COVER HOW TO WIPE THE BB CLEAN.

A very, very site for new, excitable users to view is BlackBerry FAQ - BlackBerryFAQ

And if I offended you, sorry. CALM DOWN.

HELLO?

Ok thanks for the reply mister chief.

Lets rephrase this one more time, so probably you can comprehend it, ok? Lets go.

1- Where is this Desktop Manager/Switch Device Wizard Located? Computer/Phone?

2- I want a updated OS Version, so I won't have any glitches or lag with my replacement phone. So I would like to import my current contacts in my sim card so i can export it to my new replacement phone.. along with my pictures/videos/ and everything in that nature.

3- Am I going to loose my current TMobile BlackBerry Email account and BBM PIN? or Can I still use it in my new replacement phone?

4- Why do I get the feeling that T-Mobile has sent me a used phone?

5- If I offended you my apologies.

Hope you can comprehend those 5 questions.

Thanks.

You have to download bb desktop manager software from blackberry.com that's where device switch wizard is. Your new phone has its own pin so that will chane but your tmo email addy will stay the same. You have to change the phone on your account tho and you can do that once the sim is in the new phone by going to the email settings icon, or you can login to the bis account for tmo and change it there, or you can call tmo too, I'm sure. As for your pictures, contacts, media, if you use the device transfer wizard, all that will come to your new phone. If you want more detail as to how to do all this, I can email you when I'm back at my computer.

OK...so heres some more info for you...

You can get the BlackBerry Desktop Manager here https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...039F7898184FC5

Install it with the default options, and then run it, then click and run device transfer wizard. When you are done running it, then swap your SIM and media card (if applicable).

Once you've done that, then go and login to the T-Mobile BIS here: Unsupported Browser

Thats where you change your PIN and IMEI from the old one to the new one. When thats done, make sure you register your device on the network. To do that, go to Options --> Advanced --> Host routing table. Then, scroll to any NON-BOLD entry (also not the wifi one), and click the BB button, then Register now.

That should push your service books through, and you should be all set. Test send some PINs, BBMs, and emails to make sure.

Worry about OS upgrade another time... If you need more help, let us know.

And, there is no way to know if the phone was used either... dont sweat it...comes with a 1 yr warranty anyway. Nothing is new these days by the time the End user gets 'em anyway. Just love the fact that you have it, and smile.

What do you mean 'them'? You install the desktop manager on the computer and then connect the old device to the computer, it pulls all the data from your old phone, plug in the new phone, and it dumps all the settings, contacts, media, etc., to your new phone.

You can actually get very highly specific with how you do this, but then its more complicated. If you do it manually, you have to back up the databases and only restore those databases that you want. You'd also have to manually transfer the media you have too. Device transfer wizard is kinda the dummy proof way...but it doesn't allow user level picking of this setting and that. Device transfer does allow for which applications you take with you though, but not settings. And, yes, you understand the concept behind the device transfer wizard!
