Default "Blackberry Data" vs. "Non-Blackberry Data"

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I'm wondering whether someone can help explain the concept of "blackberry data" vs. "non-blackberry data" to me. From reading various past posts, I get the vague impression that this might have something to do with RIM vs. GPRS vs. EDGE service, but even then, that's not really the answer I'm looking for.

I ask because I'm considering switching to an "unlimited blackberry data" plan. Upon further asking the rep whether it includes data that is transferred when using 3rd party apps like Google Maps/Google Mail, I was simply told that "BB data" = email data + blackberry browser surfing.

So, the million dollar question is: what would fall into the "non-blackberry data" category? I don't want to pay for an unlimited plan just to find out that I've been using mostly "non-BB data"!

Thanks!

Basically it's like this:

A BB data plan includes the necessary access to the BB APN. Otherwise a BB data plan is the same as a "standard" data plan. If you have a BB data plan you're set and don't need to worry about anything. Your BB data plan covers 3rd party app data usage.
