I had been using Redirector to get my mail from my Exchange server at work (no BES) and recently found out about using BIS to get mail through OWA. I stopped the Redirector service on DM, but see a couple of threads that suggest that DM needs to be reinstalled. Why? I don't want to have to go back and reinstall and put in all the add-ins again. With my luck, everything will stop working...

Is a reinstallation really needed to change the DM settings to BIS?

Unfortunely you will need to reinstall the DM. If you remember when you first installed it, it asked what setup you wanted - redirector vs. internet. If you don't need to use the DM for syncing, media, backup/restore then there's no need to reinstall. Just setup your work account via the BIS for OWA.

What add-ins do you have for Desktop Manager? I wasn't aware of any.

Reinstalling DM is no big deal.
