Blackberry Passport???
Please Login to Remove!
Does anyone know when we'll get the Blackberry Passport here in the States? Looks like the UK got it yesterday. I have the Q10 but would definitely upgrade to this one. Looks pretty awesome! Any information would be appreciated.

Re: Blackberry Passport???
Before the end of the year. You can order it online right now through shopblackberry.com or Amazon, though.

Thanks fourstringfuror. I just went there and it looks like it's out of stock. I was hoping I could purchase it through Verizon, my carrier. That way I could save a couple hundred dollars. But I appreciate the info.
Anyone else heard anything about the Passport?

Re: Blackberry Passport???
Verizon will not carry it - it is not a CDMA device at this time.
AT&T will have it later this year.

In typical BlackBerry fashion, it's now said to be early next year for ATT.

Re: Blackberry Passport???
ATT is not encouraging any Blackberry model. I asked about the Z30 and was handed an Iphone to try......nope

Re: Blackberry Passport???
According to the August 2014 Kantar Worldpanel survey,
Android has 63.6% of the US Market
iOS has 30.1%
Windows has 4.7%
Other has 1.6%
How does that make it a "one-phone market"?

Re: Blackberry Passport???
That's worldwide. In the US iPhone is synonymous with jello and Kleenex. That's just how it seems when out and about. I rarely see anyone with something other than an iPhone. Even an Android is semi rare to see in the wild. I almost never see another BlackBerry user or windows phone user.

Re: Blackberry Passport???
Most of what I see are android devices. I do see iphones, but that is mostly in my circles; on airplanes and in airports and hotels and when out and about, it's android. When I do see a BlackBerry it is inevitably an old BBOS model, sometimes a very old model, and almost always a business device issued by an employer. I could count on one hand the personal BlackBerry devices (I ask) that I have seen in the last year.
(The Passport is reminding me of the 8100. There will be a flash of popularity for about a year, then back to usual for BlackBerry.)

Re: Blackberry Passport???
Reality is it makes no difference what phone is seen. All it takes is for the various manufacturers to show off a new model and their followers will jump in. One of the best is Apple. They simply tell users the new is better and old is not and people will look at them funny if they have the old model. Look at the facebook crowd and twitter crowd. How many people post because they don't want to miss people seeing want they have to say. Don't even think for a minute the cell phone camera ads are missed by the growing "selfi" crowd. I overheard an argument between two 20 somethings about who was more followed. The "it's all about me" statement was made by each.
Yep I still have a bag phone.

Sorry John, that was for US only.
Go to this site and click on the US - Smartphone OS market share ? Kantar Worldpanel ComTech
I see an Android right here in my house
Yes, no BBs or Windows phones. But I disagree that is it a one phone country. The iPhone may be the most widely used phone, but Android is the major presence.

I guess in my little world I see mostly iOS. I know Android is major out there...just seems like everything is always all about Apple.

Re: Blackberry Passport???
All I see are iPhones everywhere. It's a freakin' epidemic. My family is all iPhoned up. I'm swapping back and forth between my Q10 and iPhone 6, with an occasional foray into WP8 on a Lumia Icon.
I read an unfortunate story today somewhere that said the Passport on AT&T (U.S. exclusive) won't be released until early 2015. Meanwhile, they're back in stock at ShopBlackBerry for all you AT&T and T-Mobile subscribers. We Verizon folks are waiting and HOPING it comes at all to Big Red. I had hoped that it would follow the Z30 launch scenario, giving us a mid- to late-November launch on Verizon. Now, however, with the Passport nowhere to be seen on AT&T, I'm starting to fear that the rumors of no Verizon Passport may be true. Passport for AT&T, Classic for Verizon. Not happy.

Re: Blackberry Passport???
Lately I see about 70% iphones and 30% android. Never see Windows phones that I recognize. Occasionally I see a BlackBerry but typically older one like 9900.

Re: Blackberry Passport???
You guys seeing mostly iphones travel first class more than I do.
Seriously, around the office it is all iphones. In first class it is all iphones except a BlackBerry here and there. But in coach android devices are almost the rule.
If I have seen a windows device I didnt know it.

Re: Blackberry Passport???
The last guy on my team gave up his 9930 yesterday. Got an iPhone.
Management (way above me; well not really that far above me) has decided to be off BES by end of year.
