Default OS upgrade on 8900

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I have recently bought the 8900 javelin and i find out that the battery drains out pretty quickly. I checked some forums to find out that the OS needs to be ugraded in order to have better battery life. Is that right? Does anyone here agree?

Another question i have is: I use the Enterprise services. Hence do you think i would face any problems in upgrading the OS? And can anyone help me on going about how to upgrade as well.

Many thanks in advance.

My apologies if this has been discussed earlier, i tried to search the forum but did not get desired results.

Depends on what the actual cause of the battery drain is. There are a number of potential causes and in your case it could be more than one cause. If you've narrowed it down to the OS then updating the OS to a version without the battery drain issue would be the solution.

The 8900 forum should have a "Latest OS" thread with detailed instructions. Follow them exactly and you'll be fine. Be sure to perform an Enterprise Activation (you'll need to get an EA password from your BES admin) after the upgrade since you're on BES.
