Default Calls on WiFi UMA are showing up in usage history?

Please Login to Remove!

one of key reason I upgraded to 8320 from 8700 with TMO is the improved the recepition due to WiFi at home.

1. I'm glad my cell phone reception at home is very good without blind spot.
2. Even better since I have an unlimited data plan, it seems all incoming as well as outgoing calls on home WiFi don't count towards my monthly limit, in fact, they don't even show up in my TMO usage history regardless peak or off-peak calls.

love UMA!

They should show up...

Plus on minutes used it should say Wifi - Unlimited - Used #

unless you have H@H. Calls don't get deducted from your rate plan with H@H. I would think they'd' still show up though.

I don't have H@H, i only have a unlimited data plan with TMO, most of my UMA usage at home didn't show up in my usage history.

Default new to the bb family

I recently ditched my SK3 for the Curve. I have the Blackberry Minutes and Internet plan with the WiFi@home add-on. I'm usually always getting UMA signals where ever I can ptach into a WiFi signal. Does that mean my minutes aren't affected? Or is that only for WiFi@Home?

If you have the H@H then all your UMA calls are free. Your minutes won't be affected.

That's my understanding.... wherever the call initiates. So, if you receive or dial out while on UMA and then walk outside and/or drive away while still talking, and the call transfers to the GSM network, the entire call will NOT count towards minutes used. Quite cool if that is in fact what happens!

Even with H@H , calls to Canada and such[ other countries] are billed at normal T-Mobile rate :(

This is true... Only bad side to this is when you're on GSM/EDGE and you get home and goto UMA, the minutes still count against you until you re-initate the phone call. That's where grand central comes in for me and I just press "*" and transfer call over to my home phone.

Love the UMA though, seems wifi is in alot of areas I go, I've just never looked for them like I do now..

Default UMA Calls

I just called my 8320 from my landline and it showed up on my minutes tally as (U). No charge. So incoming calls are free when you are in UMA mode.
