Angry Sending Video Files?

Please Login to Remove!

Quick- Lame story...My girlfriend make a 'cute vid' the other night and emailed it to me. She has a Sprint 8330 and I have a t-mobile 8320. I can not open her vid attachment? I stumbled upon the 4.5 OS and have the ability to record vid. Why cant I open the attachment and view the vid file?

TIA

Sebastian

I have 4.5.0.10 I am able to receive videos, but sometimes, especially when they are big in size (1MB+) i cannot see it. However, you can view it, if you forward the video. Dont send it, just act as if you are forwarding it and you should be able to view it. I have noticed this when my friend (eNv/Verizon) has sent me videos.

On the other hand, I am able to save videos. Make sure that your camera and video recorder are defaulted to save videos to your memory card.

Im running 4.5.18 so maybe thats why? I have no clue. I tried the fw trick and no dice. The vid file is only 158k? I guess I have to 'downgrade' my OS to the 4.5.10 and see if it works. Thanks.

video files are not accepted as attachments on the BIS 2.4 version. BES 4.1.5 and OS 4.5 allows you to view them as attachments. Remember most upgrades require server (BIS/BES) + Handheld updates to get full functionality.

If this is true and I'm running 4.5.18 then why can I not view them as an attachment?

Try the forwarding trick and see if it works. (even though the original video message has nothing in it.

I tried that and it didnt work. I also thought it might be because I didnt have a mem card. But that isnt the case. Can anyone shed some light on this situation please? I would really like to be able to send and receive video files.

Hi folks,

for me only a format of the media card helped.
I am testing a 8310 under OS 4.5.0.37.

Now at least the video recording is working and the vids get saved after a click on the stop button after recording.

By the way, I was told on the WES that video recording / saving is only possible on the media card.

Cheers

Mike
