Hey guys, back again, but this time not for me...my brother's 8300 is broken, whenever he places or receives a call, it is just silent, nothing can be heard at all, the other person can hear fine, as we tried it on our house phone, but he cannot hear anything, even from his voicemail. It's like the speaker on the inside of the back casing doesn't work, any suggestions? He needs it done soon if you have any ideas, but all is appreciated.

So, are you saying the speakphone is not working, or when he holds it to his ear? There are 2 different speakers.

Sorry for confusion, but as far as I know it's just when he holds it to his ear, I will call and ask if the same is occurring with the speakerphone.

EDIT: Just called (home phone of course, lol) and he says the speakerphone works just fine, its the ear.

Has he tried pulling the battery? If that doesn't do it, then he may have a broken phone.

Yes, of course, we know that it's broken, I'm looking for a fix. how could this happen and is there any way to fix it?

Ear sweat could have gotten in there and shorted it out. The only way to fix it is to replace the phone or solder a new speaker in the phone.

If I may ask, what part is the ear speaker on the phone? As in where is it?
