Good looking out. You could of course just go to the Verizon website and take a look at the 8130 device page where it states "VZ Navigator" under the sections, "Overview", "Phone Details", "Features", and "Capabilities" along with a big icon and link to a pop up window that explains exactly what VZ Navigator means with a bold explanation that reads "Download, subscription and airtime required for use."

But for those that choose to buy devices completely blind without absolutely any research, I'm sure your post will be welcomed. Then again, those that don't do research probably don't Google either, so your efforts may go in vain.

I am having the same error problem. How do i just delete the google maps application so i can wait for the kinks to be worked out with verizon? i am new to a blackberry and I can't figure out how to delete it.

I was having the same error on my Telus 8130.

Yes I used the link in this thread and it's loaded but it doesn't seem to recognize there is any GPS

Is the GPS on the Sprint 8130 unblocked, able to be used with any software on the phone? The GPS on the VZW Pearl is only enabled for use w/Versizons VZNav service...

Yes it is supposed to be unlocked anyway - I had the Verizon one and it didn't work with Blackberry maps.

The menu has a "Bluetooth GPS" but hwhen you go there it says Select GPS Device > No devices found. Well I guess it's the same as it was on the Verizon
