" copied the file to the Ringtones folder " ?

Did you have to use the Blackberry Desktop Software for this ? or just copy them on to the Micro SD card from a reader and just pop it into the blackberry ?

Enable mass storage mode on your phone. Your SD card will show up on your pc and then you can drag and drop your mp3's onto your sd card.

Yeah, audacity is what I use as well. Its real easy to use and you can choose the portion of the song you want to use for the ringer. I then send them to my phone using bluetooth. I go to the media section on the pearl and then highlight ringtones. Push the menu button and then select, "receive using bluetooth". It will then wait for you to send it from your computer. Real simple process. I have about 20 ringtones now all customized for different individuals that call me. I love it. I will never purchase ringtones while I have this method.

I've always used GoldWave to convert and edit ringtones.

What I've done in the past with my old 8703e is upload the mp3s to my geocities website in a folder with no index.htm/html file. Then I go to that website on my Blackberry Browser and download it from there.

I use an online tool "make own ringtone". It's a little buggy but mostly gets the job done. There are other sites out there that also work I believe, but this one doesn't require registration.

Im now to the downloading ringtone and just bought a pearl 8130 I type ringtones in Ares and get tons of them. now I store them into my music file on the phone but it just gives me an option to "set as ringtone" which is fine but I don't see them in the list of ringtones that the phone comes with...Am I doing something wrong?
