Options > Security Options > General Settings > Menu Key > Wipe Handheld.

Make sure Content Protection is disabled, otherwise it will take a while.

This will only erase the data, it will not remove any IT policy that may be on the device.

What is the rush? It seriously takes 2 seconds to type blackberry.

You could try the resettofactory from JL_Cmder, however the device needs to be at least running OS 4.3.

(I'm just thinking out loud) but it would be interesting if one could assign a button to the security wipe function! Sadly it would take much longer that 2-3 seconds to assign a convenience key (since no one in his or her right mind would normally assign a convenience key in that fashion!). It sounds like you might work in (or for) an extremely covert industry. It would be interesting if you actually found a method to begin a security wipe in under 3 seconds. Maybe you could hide a very small PC in the small of your back, then hide a restractible usb cable up your sleeve, when somehow trigger javaloader from JL_cmdr to start a security wipe using a trigger/buton concealed into your shoe? (I'm being serious!).

I reason there is no quick way to wipe the handheld is so that it is not easily done by accident. There would be a lot more people here complaining that they wiped their handheld by accident if it was quicker and easier.

How fast you want the wipe to be? Speed of light? Why the hurry? Take it easy man, thats the way it's designed.

I just did it in 10 seconds total on a 8310 after a few tries.

With practice maybe you could get it down to 5 or 6.

Perhaps a bulk eraser would better suit your needs. Plug it in, activate it and wave it over the device several times. They create a very strong magnetic field that will destroy most electronic devices.

With Dial from homescreen disabled, I am sure you can get it down to 5 or 6 seconds. I just tried and it was somewhere around that area.

Press O,S,S,Enter, Enter, Menu Key, W, Enter, Continue, type BlackBerry, Enter.
