He is a criminal and should be caught, tried and thrown in jail.

Agree but with one proviso, if he released anything that showed the that the government violated a law then they should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. I am tired of our civil liberties being removed for "security". Why do I have this opinion? How many of our recent enemies were on the CIA payroll in the past. If it is a capital crime for me it is a capital crime for the spys.

I agree with brother T-Bolt. Snowden is a grandstanding traitor, but at this point I'm convinced the government has abused its power. I'm angry about that, and look forward to some prosecutions of the (ir)responsible parties.

Don't have a lot of hope for that, though...

Death or Jail for Snowden? You would think he would be shown some appreciation, I mean, he blew the whistle on so much illegal activity by the Government.

Gratitude can be a real b*%ch eh?

Like government snooping was such a secret? Or is it just a surprise that they spy on us and not just "our enemies"...

I think the surprising part is what data they are collecting (I don't think we really know the full extent) and the lack of trust that they are not abusing their powers.

One really telling thing was the statement from the President and others that Congress was briefed. Obviously not exactly true as several have come out saying they knew nothing of it.

The real problem I have is the extent of the surveillance on US citizens, i.e. phone calls and Internet use. And keeping the data for years and years.

Do we really trust anyone in Government anymore?
