Default Verizon case on 7130e

Please Login to Remove!

I got my case (finally) and I still have to recharge my phone every 24-36 hours. It uses a magentic clasp which seems to put my bb into "sleep" mode but am not sure. I was kind of hoping for a jump in battery life with this case. Is this case not actually putting it in sleep? Am I expecting too much on battery life? Does the official bb case from the bb store do a better job on this? Any info is appreciated, thank you. Yes, this is my first bb phone.

You may be expecting too much. I get about the same life on my 7130.

I've gotten about 48-50 hours with moderate email and phone usage. Battery life is also affected by network coverage. If you are near or in a fringe area the battery will drain sooner.

I agree. I get about 48 hours on the weekend when my phone is used very little. During the week I have to charge it nightly. I work in hospitals and if I'm in one that has very little coverage I may see a dead battery in 8 hours.

What does sleep mode actually put to sleep?

yea I also get 24-36 hours of battery life and thats about it. This includes talking on the phone for maybe a hour or so and checking emails as they come in(maybe 10 a day). I really wish the battery life was longer.

OK, I feel better now, thank you all for the input. I am in San Jose, CA and am almost constantly in EV coverage. I get 20-40 e-mails per day, about the same in text exchanges and maybe talk on it for 30 minutes up to 2 hours per day. When that extended battery does come out, I hope it fits in the holster.. .. .

I get less than 14 hours of battery life, with a call or two, and maybe 3 or 4 message checking.

Crappy battery if you ask me.

Sucks for you guys... my 7105t goes for 3-5 days on a charge with moderate to heavy phone and data usage.

I'm sure it wouldn't last that long if it was in an area where you constantly lost coverage. I live in rural ohio and travel a lot. I visit areas (including inside hospitals) that do not have service. It really eats your battery.

To extend battery life, I've found that disabling BT ads some time to it. When I kept BT enabled, I had a hard time making it through an 8 hr. period. With BT off, I'm getting what seems like 2-4 more hrs. My usage varies but there is a noticeable difference. Hopefully this helps (although turning BT off does defeat the purpose I know).

forgot to mention that I do not use BT unless I am in my wife's car (Prius) that has it built in. OK, I'm doing quite a bit better than 14hours so I guess I cannot complain too much . . .. .
