Exclamation Upgrade to OS 6

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone, sorry if this has been asked before.

Im new to this Blackberry thing. Im using a Curve 3G 9300, my first Blackberry. I was using an android before but due to poor battery life I decided to trade.

Will it be possible for me to upgrade my OS6?
what's the difference between OS5 and OS6?
and if I upgraded, will it allow me to downgrade again to OS5?

Big Thanks!

Yes, you will be able to upgrade.
Yes you can downgrade if you want, later.
And even upgrade again.
And downgrade again.

The differences are mainly in the graphic UI of the device and some additional options in the browser and search functions.

I've been with Blackberry since 7250 and I'm on a blackberrry 9700 with os6. I will never get back to os5.

memory management is really improved and I love the search engine "à la iPhone".

I was using my BB as a professionnal tool at the beginning, but by now, I'm using it as an everyday multimedia player (youtube, facebook etc..) and as a powerfull business tool.

I've seen no flaws by now with os6. I get used to the new menu too, but I'm always on the "all" menu.

My advice is always this: if your device is working as you wish and need, then it isn't broken and doesn't need to be fixed with an OS upgrade. Our forum is full of problems with upgrades, but on the other hand, we rarely get the "upgrade went great" discussion.

And if you have apps, themes and ringtones that you like and use with your current OS, keep in mind that they may not work with the upgrade, particularly going from OS5 to OS6.

If you decide to continue, see the yellow sticky at the top of the 9300 for the latest OS version and the instructions. Follow them exactly and have patience since it can take an hour or longer. And make sure that you have a good back up of your data and also sync with Outlook, Google or whatever you use.
