It is a great thing. Thanks Jibi. I have to say seeing this stament:

If you are connected to a Bluetooth® enabled headset and a Bluetooth GPS puck, after some time, the connection between your BlackBerry device and the Bluetooth enabled devices might be lost.
Impact: Your device might not maintain a connection to two Bluetooth enabled devices at one time.
Workaround: None.

Made me try using the BT HS and the GPS puck and they both work at teh same time now while before it was a no go.

Nifty! Please report back after using it with both a couple days, if it stays reliably connected to both? Thanks!

So I just had this happen to me today. I was in the process of trying to unlock my device after taking it out of the holster and it froze. When I tried a soft reboot, I saw the error message, and continued soft reboots would only bring me to the Cingular screen. bbWeather was the program that it mentioned having the exception. The only way I could recover was to remove and insert the battery.

Since I was just trying some new software out today (IT re-opened my download policy for a day while upgrading OS), I've decided to take that program off, since I can get my weather info easy enough from other web pages. Overall, I'm still extremely happy with the OS overall, no plans on moving back (unless this happens every day!).

hokie i would just probably remove that app, i had a similar problem on the 7290 when trying to hide and option on bbtoday it frooze everytime and a required me to pull the battery.. i finally learned to live with the setup or just remove it... now with the 8700 it seems to be problem free but i still dont use bbweather

Yeah, I think bbWeather was the culprit. I tried loading teh program again from a different source, and my bb locked up when trying to configure.

So it's off my system, and I'm hoping I have no further problems!

Question 4.1.0.529 doesn't let adding profile exceptions

Me and a friend upgraded our 8700c with 529. I already had a few profile exceptions.

Neither he nor me can add profile exceptions at this point - we get an error that the name cannot be empty even though we select one or more names from the address book.

Both of us can edit existing exceptions (including the built-in default one).

Can anyone else verify this?

Can there be such a gaping hole in this release?

Thanks,
Amnon

Updated my 8700c to 529 and have the Zen theme active, and I noticed that PIN messages are not showing up in the messages folder, but if I view the SMS folder they are there. Anyone else notice this?

That is how it shows on mine. I thought the PIN messages are also considered as SMS (BB wise).

I switched back to the Cingular theme, and PIN messages show up in the messages folder. I get lots of PIN messages, so I may have to switch back to the Cingular theme, but I really like the layout of the Zen theme. Bummer.

This is normal for the Zen theme. Partually why I never used the Zen theme before the Pearl. The Today Plus theme (only available on the Peal) is a cross between Zen and Today themes. The messages ribbon has all email, PIN, and SMS messages like before.

After updating, the Browser, along with any links to open or initialize it, have disappeared. How do I reactivate the web browsing functions? Thanks.

I may be missing something, but where are you getting this update? I have a Verizon 8703e and when going to BlackBerryâ„¢ 4.x Software Download the latest I could get was 4.1.0.344.

Also, is there a way to get the updates pushed to your device? THanks!

Default Battery Life since upgrade?

Has anyone expirienced a decrease in battery life since the upgrade.

Other then the upgrade I am using or have installed:
Zen Theme
Ramble IM
Ramble Forward Conversation as...
and I set my back light to 40% to save on battery

I think this is all that would be different since Thursday last week other then then firmware.

I have noticed for the first time ever on any BB (this my second BlackBerry, 1st was a 7100g) that the battery is loosing power during the day and I HAVE TO CHARGE at night or during the day, whereas before I didn't.

Thanks

Boy - I was very excited to upgrade to this release as I am still on the stock Cingular original version but from what I read, people's battery loses charge quickly (a bad thing) and people have noticed other negatives. Can you tell me why I should move? I really wanted to have the louder rings, Zen and other benefits and fixes Jibi notes above, but not if the battery life will suck once I move. Thoughts?

I've posted this issue already, but this seems like an appropriate place to say it again.

I have an issue with my 8100 in that task reminders do not always go off. Particulary, any recurrence after the the first occurrence of a recurring task. These seem to never work. I am marking the tasks complete, and if I then open the task, it clearly has set all the fields to then pop up a reminder on the next occurrence. But, it just doesn't work.

A few times even Tasks that are just one occurrence to not trigger a reminder either.

Any news of this being a known issue, or of any fix to this annoying problem?
