Default BB 8900 lost a month of eamils

Please Login to Remove!

Good afternoon. I had a client this morning who noticed that she no longer has emails before a specific date, but then has some older ones from a month earlier. She has a history of all her txts and her call log is still there. But emails from our exchange server are missing. All of the emails in question are still in her exchange profile.
We are on exchange 2k3 and BES 4.1.6

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What is the file free on her device (Options -> Status)?

Sounds like the device got low on space and deleted messages to reclaim space.

So that's not it..... what about archive rules? Do you have Hard Delete Support turned on and her client auto-archived, which then removed the emails from her BB?

We do have hard delete on. And we just got our WSUS working again (long story). So we are pushing down loads of updates to all our users. We archive outlook but only items older than 6 months. The emails in question start on dec 5th and then it jumps to Jan 22 2010. The user has only had this phone for about 6 months. I am very perplexed about this. and thank you for your assistance.

are you saying the user has mail older than DEC. 5th on the bb? The default number of days a bb keeps mail is 30 days. Has this user increased that limit.

In addition, I have had users (including myself) loose basically everything in the bb message folder with no explanation or correlation to what happened on Outlook. And the messages would continue to leave the bb as new ones came in... until I did a battery pull.

This was on OS versions about 2 years ago though. Not since then.

Well I work in a law firm and they are a bit crazy here. So we have to set it to keep them forever. So that they can reference older emails that correlate to what ever case they are working on. So occasionally they will need something from an email from 3 months back. or even longer sometimes.
