Default Rogers BOLD issues

Please Login to Remove!

I have noticed that my phone pretty much always stays in EDGE mode as opposed to 3G and consistently drops the network for a few minutes at a time, and there is no signal strength. I remember reading up on this and that this was an issue like the Iphone. I spoke with tech. support and they indicated that this is a known issue and they are working to try and resolve the problem but no fix yet. As such, I have gone back to my 8310 until this issue can be resolved. Just a heads up. Anyone else finding this issue?

Mine's constantly on 3G however, it did drop a call earlier... but I was also in the boonies on the way home from finding it.

Well this really stinks. I can't use a phone like this, too unreliable. Hope they come out with a fix soon. Guy said within a month hopefully. Also, I do not have a "call log" icon like on all the other Blackberry devices.

Nope. Not being able to see a log of missed and dialed calls is an issue. I wonder if this was overlooked? How could that be though...

Is that to fix the missing Call Log, to correct the dropped calls, or both?

Pretty obvious why ATT delayed it, isn't it?

If you are going to go back to your 8310 which is Edge only why not just turn off 3G on Bold and continue to use the new toy?

Tech support walked me through it and I do have the latest OS apparently. As for turning off 3G, it drops call both then in 3G and in EDGE, as it is mostly in EDGE. I am going to try and sort things out with Rogers this morning or get refunded. It really is a nice phone but I can't use it if this problem continues.

Hope these are just isolated incidents. But still too few people have the Bold to make a generalization as there are issues with every single device.

Agreed. I am going to have my unit replaced and see from there.

Cory, do you have any of the issues that have been reported in this thread? Also how is your 3G reception/availability?

Haven't had any issues with calls being dropped. Have probably made / received about 12-15 calls so far. Been driving around northern GTA without any issues. So far I've asked everyone how the sound quality was - every response was that it was clearer than my curve. Sync'd nicely with my car's BT as well. No complaints here...
