Default Preapproved Payment via App World/PayPal

Please Login to Remove!

Today I logged into App World to download the BlackBerry Podcasts app. When I clicked download, I was prompted to create a BlackBerry ID. I created one, then received an e-mail regarding something about a preapproved payment plan through PayPal. When I logged into PayPal for details, it sort of looked like a credit limit like on a credit card. Does this open up a new line of credit? I certainly did not want that. Mine is showing a preapproved amount of $1,500. The only reason I ask is that I just recently bought a house, and when you're buying a house, your credit score is your best friend. Mine is solid, but my lender told me not to open/close any lines of credit until I close on the house. My house is done and closed on, so it's not a huge deal, but I was just curious. I don't recall having to enter my SSN for anything BlackBerry or PayPal related, so I doubt it's a line of credit, but perhaps just linked to your bank account through PayPal?

I never got anything like that from BB App World/BlackBerry ID

I would be weary of it.

I received it too. Its just an automated way of paying for apps etc on app world. It makes it so you don't have to type in your paypal infor every time.

Still, be careful, especially when your talking about your credit.

If you want, log in to Paypal and cancel preapproved payment. I don't know that there's really anything to worry about, but it bugged me too, and I canceled it.

It depends on how you setup in the new app world, and if you link your ID with paypal or not. I'm not exactly sure, but I used the same email address for my ID as for paypal, and either the link was automatic or I agreed to the link. I'm imagine if you use a different email the preapproved payments deal will not happen. But as I say I didn't realize exactly what steps I did that made it happen.
