Default Email requires manual reconciliation.

Please Login to Remove!

Yes - I've searched.

In certain situations my email requires manual reconciliation.

For example -

* I email comes into the exchange server and appears on both my Outlook and my BB.

* I erase it from my outlook (it goes to Deleted items) and it stays on the BB. Shouldn't it disappear? If I then go and Reconcile Now it will clear it up.

Is this just the way that it's supposed to work?

On the BB I have Delete on Mailbox and Handheld and Wireless Reconcile On.

It takes time for the sync to occur. I have seen in postings up to 20 minutes.

I know... I've left it for hours. Like even overnight.

Did you empty your deleted folders item in Outlook before the reconcilation? Sometimes Outlook is set up to empty your deleted folder upon exiting adn I have found if I read something in Outlook, deleted it and exited quickly, the BB seems like it doesn't know where the e-mail went so it just leaves it in the inbox.

are you using outlook 2003? if so are you using cached mode? We have found using cached mode causes some strage issues.

I have my deleted items empty on exit. That is one of the reasons I do a manual reconsile before I leave the office.

I'm using Outlook 2002. I actually leave it open so it just moves my email to the deleted items folder when I do a delete and leaves it there until I manually clear it (which is around once or twice a month).

Exchange. No offline storage (I don't use it). And it's BES. Sorry, should have said that.

We had problems with reconcilation of folders with older versions of Outlook. We upgraded everybody to Outlook 2003 including creating a new personal folder in the 2003 format and dragging/converting the earlier Outlook sub-folders into the new 2003 personal folder. Solved most of the reconcilation issues.

This impacted mainly the personal folder filing and retrieving but may be somehow related to your deleted items.

Somehow it seems to be working now. I reported the problem to our heldesk so maybe they did something... Very strange...

Thanks for all the help - much appreciated.
