Is there a way to set the clock to be visible while the device is sitting on my desk (that is, without the screen timing out to black)?

I've tried that, but the screen goes into suspend mode, or whatever it is.

Go into clock options and make sure When Charging>Display Clock is set.

Is there a way to change the look of the clock, i.e. give it a blue background?
