Okay, well this is interesting.
I updated to the "recommended" software for the phone, when I go to setup emails the only option I see is for the enterprise server, but my personal emails DO seem to be working and I can change settings for them by opening an email and going to options. First it asks for my BB id and PW which I setup on the BIS (that's what you call the online BB thing, right?)
Tomorrow I'll get the enterprise setup again with my "power user" status so my other emails should still be working (fingers crossed)
At least I'm learning something doing all this.
