i saw some threads suggesting at&t might have decided on purpose not to enable NFC on its branded 9900. i cannot find NFC under the Manage Connections icon. does anyone else have an at&t blackberry bold 9900? if so, can you access NFC? if not, have you hear any thoughts on why it would not be made available? it sounds like it could be pretty cool, particularly for making payments

OOPS, i see page 263 says for devices using a Blackberry Enterprise Server, i might not be able to see NFC. better check with our administrator

NFC is not enabled on the AT&T 9900 because AT&T has blocked it. It has nothing to do with your BES.

T-Mobile has also blocked NFC in the Blackberry Bold Touch 9900. Unfortunately installing the newest Vodafone OS did not enable it. There is no NFC option in the Connection Manager.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to enable NFC?

It is blocked at a network level and you will not be able to enable it.

It really sucks that I for a full-priced non-subsidized phone, that RIM allows carriers to disable key functionality, just because their haven't released their own NFC wallet yet for profit $$$ yet!

Samsung does not allow carriers to disable NFC on their phones!
