Question 8520 OS from 4.6 to 5.0

Please Login to Remove!

hi, i'm new to this and i don't really know how it works!

i've had my 8520 a while and i'm aware that there is now an update for it. i was wondering if people that have upgraded from 4.6 to 5.0 think that its worth it?

also would someone be willing to give me a hand on how to do it? i know i have to download something from my server but i really don't know where to begin!

thanks in advance!!

Check the 8500 section, where I am moving this thread.

Just a personal opinion,if the device is working fine and as you want and need, then it isn't broken and doesn't need to be fixed with an OS update. But if you are so inclined, see the yellow sticky at the top of the 8500 section for the latest OS and instructions on how to upgrade.

Krusty, your post is obviously a personal opinion yet please do not use profanity in this discussion.

Note that you will need an active bb data plan to upgrade from 4.6 to 5.0.
In my opinion the upgrade to Os 5 was a big improvement. The threaded SMS was brilliant and also I fou d that it generally ran better than 4.6 on my old 8520.
