Hi guys,

I need some help. I have a client that dropped off a blackberry and for some reason, it's a dos screen, and every item I try to select, gives me this error.

Not quite a DOS screen. A module required by the BB OS is missing.

Go to the top of the 8300 section, find the correct OS to download and following the instructions to the letter to reload the OS.

I know how to reload the OS, did it a few times at my store. I am wondering how to reload it without losing the data on it. That is my big fear.

If there is no backup, and no way to make a backup, then the data is gone.

Can Desktop manager connect to the BB long enough to make a backup?

When I plug the device in, in the drop down, the PIN does show up, but by default, it shows (NONE). JL Cmdr doesn't read it either, nor does BBSAK.

I would like to contact my client with good news, but I am afraid that won't be happening....
