Stricly personal ,my 8830 keeps me in touch with all my family and friends. Nothing more I can ask for (except for OS 4.5, Docs to Go, and that wireless music gateway. Lol that's it)

Mine is personal. I love the 8320 and every feature is has to offer me. I have a blackberry and an american express card, and I want to tell you that I would rather leave home without my amex than my blackberry. It is the best tool you will ever have!

Default 7100i voice recorder?

Just two quick questions for a new user...does the 7100i have a voice recorder in it and can I sync the calendar to a specific calendar on my desktop...i.e. outlook, etc.

Thanks,

Mine is for Personal Business.

No corporate BES for me, it's all personal. Some stuff like work appointments and KnowledgeExchange Classes may seem like business but it's all on my personal device. I'm not high enough up the corporate food chain to rate a corporate Blackberry. They give out 8700-series devices anyway, and nobody ever smiles when looking at his corporate BB. That tells me I probably don't want one!

I'm a trustee of my local lake club, in my third year on the board. Lots of lake stuff is on my Blackberry as well. But again, it's all personal.

I bought mine for both. In have both work and personal email set up in it and use the calendar to track work and personal events. I hated carrying around a PDA and a cell phone. Now of course I'd be lost with out my Curve!

I guess I missed something. I use my BB for work. My company gave it to me and pays for it. I use it for all the business related things it's designed for. It syncs with my Outlook and keeps both up to date. Because I travel so much, I also use it to stay in touch with my family.
On the weekends I turn it off and switch to a personal cell phone with a different phone number (no email, no calendar) that only my family and friends know the number.
I can't imagine anyone's social life needing a 24/7 connection. I sometimes feel too connected now. Must be a generational thing.

Email delivery's a plus. I switched years ago to BB for device convergence. I was mostly tired of having separate information in Outlook's contacts and in my cell phone's phone book. This was way back when very few phones would sync with Outlook.

Now, also having a camera, GPS and music in the BB are additional bonuses.

I do actually use the personal BB for email quite a bit now. I'm on a very active email list and use interstitial time (riding in the elevator, waiting in line etc) to keep up. Otherwise I'd be spending a lot of dedicated time at a PC rather than doing other things.

That's not to mention the usefulness of the PIM features and various 3rd party apps. Push email may be the BB's killer app but it's not the only thing that the BB is capable of by a long shot.

Plenty of people even use the BB without even a data plan...
