Default have users that must enter blackberry to unlock. Please help!!!!

Please Login to Remove!

I have a couple of users on my BES that just recently after typing in the unlock code for their blackberry it will make them then enter the word, "blackberry" before it lets them in. Any ideas on what may be causing this or not? Thanks, Steve
They are not entering the wrong password.

That will only show if they're entering in the incorrect password multiple times. Make sure the users don't have num lock or caps lock inadvertently enabled.

They must be entering the incorrect password. When entering the incorrect password x number of times, the device then asked the user to type 'blackberry' to ensure the user basically knows how to type.

Does the user use uppercase or special characters in their password.

Why don't you just reset the password from the BES?

Hi, I'm new to the forum. I'm having the same problem, and the num/caps lock was not on. It ended up wiping the software from my phone, and I had to reinstall it. That was at 7pm. I thought it was ok, and after setting the phone up through the wizard, I set the password again. When I went to unlock it, it said enter blackberry to continue. Did that and entered my password and it said it was incorrect again. It started the wiping process again, but this time I did not loose the software (11:30pm). I've had my 8900 since early May and I never had to enter blackberry in order to unlock my phone. I also lost my help icon and all of my games in the restore. Just need to know what causes this and if I will just have to leave my phone unlocked at all times. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have read that one should NOT use passwords of 3 characters or less as that can be flaky. At least, that's what I recall. That may not be your issue.

No, that wasn't my issue, but thanks for responding. I called T-Mobile to get help, but I have to call back tomorrow when I get to work in order to use another phone while they send me some service books or something like that. I'm home now, so I don't need it locked here, but will definitely want to lock the phone when I'm out and about.

I'd recommend testing out the keyboard. Again, it shouldn't prompt you to type blackberry unless you've entered the password incorrectly.

For future reference, you can resend the service books yourself from My Tmobile. Under Connect and Share, select Configure Email. On the menu, select service books and then, send service books.

Agree with others though, it's something with typing incorrectly.
