Is this only available through PC based DM?

On my phone it says "No Update Available".

Did Verizon release the OS?

Not available as a manual download yet, try using Desktop Manager to update via the BlackBerry.com upgrade

I am unable to get it either DM (update software) or OTA yet. I tried the download links on blackberry site which redirects to VZW downloads. after I enter my PIN and number I get a download of .75 still...

Anyone actaully get the physical download of the 148? As OTA is not showing up for me.... sucks. I guess the actual download is not ready yet as stated.

Ok I just called tech support. they said the download is not on the site yet. But it should be up tomorrow with the new version. As well we should get the push ota icon on the phone by tomorrow as well if you did not get it today. Hope its true. I want to do this OTA.

I was going to wait a few days to see how it was performing but you know how it is, just couldn't resist lol. The OTA icon popped up and of course I hit it. Took all night and got stuck on 71% for hours (ARGH-I wonder what that cost me, even with my $30 data plan). I'm at work now and am continuing the download; seems to be moving along ok. Can't wait to see the improvements over that stinky ol' 75. If this goes well on my phone I'll install it on the wifes (using desktop manager). Good luck everyone.

Pull the battery while powered on, and reboot.

That error will normally clear up.

One change I noticed right away-on 75 when I locked the screen I could still access it to catch the time or check for messages (it would light up but give the locked screen advise); now when I lock it the screen goes dark and won't relight until I unlock the phone. Anybody else see this or anything else?

I pulled the battery three different times... I still get the error and it also asks me if I want the device to automatically select GSM or CDMA based on network availability.. Wtf is this?

Hit the call button or any other button in that row, it lights up for me.

For the first part, it sounds like maybe a bad app set to start up with the blackberry? It may not be compatible with .148 yet. But I don't know a lot about blackberry programming. For the second part, I would call my service provider and ask, that should only have to be set once.

Yes that is the case...the screen sensors are inactive when the backlight dims out...but touching any of the buttons will light you right back up.

Well 148 is a POS! Still slow and getting that dang black clock saying that it is busy a lot. The battery life still sucks. All I sent was a few texts and talked on the phone a few times on a full charge and my battery was almost dead on like 1 and 1/2 bars. Guess I will wait for the NEWER OS to come out in several months I suppose.

I'm also not getting an update option through OTA or DM, currently running .122 (platform .153). Anyone else get this and find the issue?

Yes, many have noticed that who are on a non-Verizon OS, like your .122.

You'll either need to wait for the manual download OS version, or downgrade your OS to .75.

I downloaded the build from BlackBerry® Software Updates - installed it and then DM shows the upgrade when the phone is connected, worked great.

Looks like the OS has been posted on Verizon's site. "BlackBerry Device Software v4.7 (updated 6/1/2009)"

You were right. I had uberTwitter installed and after removing it I no longer get the java error on boot up.

Loaded up .148 last night took about an hour. Has improved the storm functionality. Still hate the keyboard.
