Default Need help with BES express 5.02 and Exchange 2010 sp1 Multi tenant Calendar sync

Please Login to Remove!

Thank you in advance for any help anyone can give.

To preface, I have already gone through several guides including Daniel Noakes' "exchangegeek" blog And I am still having issues. People say they have gotten this working, but I have not heard back from any of them if Calendar sync does indeed work both ways for them or not.

Everything works, EXCEPT for Blackberry to Exchange Calendar sync. Email works, contacts work, calendar from Exchange to Blackberry works.

Things I have tried include Uninstall and reinstall of BES. Removing MAPI CDO 1.2.1 (newest from February) and installing older CDO. Removing older CDO and Reinstalling Newest Mapi. Creating a new service account. Checking, rechecking, and rechecking the rechecked permissions.

I still get the below in the MAGT log when it tries to sync from the blackberry calendar, which normally is fixed by permissions or changing the service account:

You should run IEMSTest and post the result here.

I had ran that, but it does not output anything for users in tenant domains. The utility quits. For example, when picking podcast, one of my BES users:

If I run it on BESadmin it gives the following
Opening Default Message Store Mailbox - BESadmin
{BESadmin@hosted.local} Unable to find user in AD

BESadmin: Opening message store using
/o=mailit/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recip
ients/cn=BESadmin
/o=mailit/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Confi
guration/cn=Servers/cn=MAILIT/cn=Microsoft Private MDB
BESadmin: Mailbox opened successfully
BESadmin: Root Folder opened successfully
BESadmin: Folder created successfully
BESadmin: Test folder deleted successfully
BESadmin: MAPI test completed successfully
BESadmin: CDO Server Name: MAILIT
BESadmin: CDO Mailbox DN: /o=pcsmailit/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOH
F23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=BESadmin
BESadmin: CDO logon successful
BESadmin: Get default calendar folder successful
BESadmin: Get calendar folder name successful: 'Calendar'
BESadmin: CDO test completed successfully
BESadmin: Failed to check Active Directory for Send As permissions (80070057)
BESadmin: Initializing EWS Proxy... successful
BESadmin: Configuring User... failed

I am guessing it is confused on the AD permissions because it is BESadmin trying to read BESadmin and besadmin has all permissions to itself.

AD permissions exist for send as on users in the tenant domains for BESadmin.

It look like there is a problem with the Mapi Profiles on your BES. Have you tried to re-create them? Check this KB:

KB10285-How to re-create the BlackBerry Enterprise Server MAPI profile

So, I figured out what was wrong with my users. Someone set up the hosting and mailbox plans and decided Imap didnt need to be active on the packages. =P

Updated service plans to activate imap, and everything worked.

Glad you found a solution, but it is strange as IMAP is a protocol for e-mail only, has nothing to do with calendar sync. And BES is not using IMAP.
