It was available for download on the official site about two weeks ago (only for one day), and I installed it without any issues. The only major visible change is that the hourglass has been replaced with a circling fan type of icon. i have noticed no change in memory, battery life or speed.
Upgraded this morning and everything went fine. I read on Crackberry that other upgraders have more free memory with this update but I haven't had enough time to play around yet.
I think I will hold off on updating from .247. The next upgrade for me will be to 5.0. I don't think there will be any other major fixes or features between now and 5.0, and besides .247 works like a charm for me.
The only thing I've seen on my bold so far after upgrade to "new" AT&T release is; no random restarts but only have been running for twenty four hours. Memory leak and battery drain still as bad as with "old" official version for me. I'm giving it a couple of days more and may go back to .266.. My two cents.
