Default blackberry device mgr and roxio picture delete

Please Login to Remove!

roxio delete picture ( from the BB desktop/device manager, launch ) causes the picture to be deleted from the catalog but leaves a broken image icon in the BB9000 device

now when I attempt to delete the image, it just repeats the message that the image is Read Only, are you sure? and when selecting Yes, it does not delete the image

how is this corrected?

connect the blackberry to the desktop and delete the image from windows explorer.

>connect the blackberry to the desktop and delete the image from windows explorer.

I have BB Desktop Manager 5.0.1 running, have entered my password for the device and Windows Explorer drives are all showing, clicking on drive G or H does not produce a treeview with navigation of folders, it simply says no media and returns to C:\

From BB Desktop Manager I can launch Media Manager, Roxio and it shows the pictures on the BB9000 but no longer shows the deleted items, they only show up as broken icons in the BB9000 device itself.

If I misread some of the directions, please correct me

ok, update as of Tuesday Jan 5, 2010

have read directions at Blackberry

The trick was to enable Mass Media in Home, Options, Memory while I have no media card in the device

Now Directory Opus (I don't use Explorer) displays drive G: (Blackberry)

I can navigate all the folders on the device, including hidden system folders and pictures are located in Home\User\Pictures

My original problems remains. Directory Opus (and yes, verified same in Explorer) shows that I have 5 jpg type images in the pictures folder.

When I access pictures on the BB9000 device itself from Home, Media, Pictures, All Pictures, it shows names of pictures, with broken icon picture, that do not match the names of the 5 images in the Home\User\Pictures folder

So, my original question remains.

Apparently just accessing the data in Windows Explorer is no different in correcting some "Internal Folder File mapping" issue with the BB9000 ?

Apparently Roxio file management is no different either as it does not synchronize the files that I have deleted internally for the BB9000.

the solution was to remove battery while the BB9000 was ON and then re-insert battery, enter password and the device will rescan it's image index.

all is well again, the BB9000 now shows the original 5 remaining images
