Default Solid replacement for Google Talk?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm getting a little tired of the constant disconnects that I experience with Google Talk as well as all of the times where I think I am online but the people on my contact list are telling me I am offline. Looking at the reviews in the app store, it seems like a lot of people are having the same issue.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a solid replacement for it? I've been using Google Talk since I got my Torch but when I had a Bold I used Beejive and had decent luck with it. Is Beejive the most solid option out there? I don't mind paying for an app if it's going to give me better connectivity.

BlackBerry Messenger! All you need is a data plan and friends with BlackBerrys. And who wants friends withOUT BlackBerrys?

BBM is not a substitute for GTalk. You can look into IM+, Trillian for Blackberry, and Meebo for Blackberry for starters.

As for friends without Blackberries....that's going to be a growing trend as Android continues to eat RIM's lunch.

BBM is coming to the Android and iOS platforms soon.

I was sad to see that announcement, I was hoping to have BBM on my Droid X when I finally decide to move on.

Thanks pcerio. I'm back to Beejive for the 30 day trial to see how it is. If it's not to my liking I'll try one of the others you listed.
