I recently activated BES on my personal BB device so I could access e-mail at home (apparently against company policy since I wasn't offered one by my employer). Now all SMS text messages have been disabled and I have a mandatory password I must enter after each keylock.
If I contact my IT or BES admin people, can I get my PIN removed from our BES so that I can get back my ability to SMS text people and remove the annoying password?
Annoying password? You'll like it a lot more when someone jacks your device ;)
Anyway, your problem is the IT Policy. The *only* way to remove it is to wipe you device. Sorry. To do it properly, use the desktop manager app to back up your device. Then go to Tools, Options, Security Options, General Options, then click the wheel in and hit "Wipe Handheld". Restore your data.

Yes, you will need to contact your BES admin to have them remove the PIN from the server. Sorry, but wiping the device does not remove the IT Policy. Search the forums for "remove IT Policy" on instructions on how to do it.
You will need to get your IT Team make a termination policy that reverses all changes the IT policy has made to your device. Once that is applied to your device, they will remove you from the server.
At least that is how we do it for multiple orgs

Thanks.
How did you get your PIN / BB on the BES without IT help?
