Default Message prepopulation on BES

Please Login to Remove!

I am running BES 4.1.2.20 on Windows 2003 SP2 with Exchange 2003 SP2, with users ranging from old black berries to even the latest curve. All of the other features on BES are working as they should except for message prepopulation. I have been trying to find any guides or any other help in regards to this but IU have not come across any. If someone can give me some ideas as to what i should look for or check to see how I can get that to work. I have gone as far as wiping the devices but still the messages do no prepopulate.

The BES is set for repopulating last 7 days or 250 messages worth of email. One more thing worth mentioning, no matter what mail store the users are on the same thing happens.

Any suggestions or ideas will be greatly appreciated. I have tried looking for something relative on the forums but I have not come across anything, if I missed anything then please feel free to point me to the article.

Thanks,
RX

I've not come across this before, especially if you have the pre-population set up which you seem to have done. It sounds a lame excuse but try updating your BES to SP3 or SP4 and see if it kicks in to life.

In my experience, the only situation where the BES prepops mail is if it is the first time you are on the server. Remove a user from the server and add them back in. Make sure you remove the BES server stats from their mailbox.

I know that it is supposed to do it in other instances, but i know this works great.

On my BES the messages prepopulate after wiping the device and re-adding it. It also works when I switch devices (in each case without having to delete the user.) I'm running 4.1.4

Email pre-population only works when the PIN is new (new BlackBerry device user), or changed (new BlackBerry device).

When we first installed the BES, it was the same. Messages would only prepopulate if it was a new user added. When I had to wipe two devices, they had no old email sent back to the device (even unread). Just yesterday I wiped my device and reactivated and all of my previous messages were pushed. I don't know why this occurred. I did it the same as previous device wipes. As far as I know the Wireless backup does not backup email messages.

No, the wireless backup does not include messages. It had to populate them (mine were only headers so I know it wasn't the backup). Like I said, it works on my server and not only on new users/PINs.
