oh great... I was all set to buy a pearl since I told myself ah well it's cheaper and it has video but now after seeing that the curve is going to also be able to record video I think I shall wait a few more weeks and buy the curve instead

Why would you wait? You can buy the Curve now and add the video when the new OS comes out.

I gotta wait for my next paycheck ;) and for that extra refund I get on may 1st. My husband is ok with me getting the pearl but if I wait until May I can say it's my uh mother's day gift lol believe me I don't want to wait to buy but if I want this phone I gotta and it's worth the extra wait for me to be able to get it!!!

Are you looking to upgrade with T-moble or switch to a new service? You might be able to find some great deals on Amazon if you can switch to a new service. I was able to get my Curve real cheap because I went switched to AT&T

I was referring to the vid that VickyPaz mentioned in the first post. "I just saw video on crackberry.com that the new Curve OS 4.3.1 will have software to record video.." so I guess the video about the video recorder... =] err, or is that not available to view anymore?? =]

The OS will actually be 4.5, and the video recording does work.

Running 4.5.0.10 now, and it works great. There are memory leak issues, however, which are addressed in 4.5.0.18. The kewl thing about the video recorder is that it records to 3gp format. Which means that the BB supports 3gp streaming video for the first time! The company I work for does 3gp video streaming, so it's a pretty large breakthrough for us.

The 8320 currently supports 3gp video streaming now with OS version 4.2.

Interesting. I've got an 8310 with AT&T and I haven't been able to stream until now. But then again, I AM on AT&T, which we found blocks port 554 for RTSP, at least with the plan I'm on. Using a T-Mobile SIM, and the right plan and changing my APN settings, and I was able to stream, so I guess this functionality may have been there all along?
