I noticed that everytime I making a phone calls just using the touch pad and not sliding out the manual keyboard, after couple of minutes my torch is getting hotter and dropping my calls. But if I slide out my torch and make phone calls I don't have problem I can talk as long as I can(the longest call so far is 30 minutes).Any ideas?

Interesting. I have never once slid out the kepad during a call and never noticed the Torch getting hot. I have had several 15 minute plus calls on it as well. I will pay attention to this in the future and see if it happens and post back the results.

Do you have many apps running which may be giving the cpu unnecessary load? I have had my phone heat up on occasion when I have been runningv too many apps.

Also, are there any other times where you notice it heating up?

I don't have much apps running except for facebook and email, maybe its because my work place got a bad reception and iam always on 3g.It might be because since its not sliding out and the way i hold the phone. If it is on slide out position the antenna got a better signal?maybe?

Still then, signal strength should not really have anything to do with how much heat the device omits.

Try talking to your carrier about it and see what tech support recommend.

Kept an eye out for this over thepast few days. My phone does not get hot during calls with the keyboard retracted. Don't know what to say.
