I have had NO ISSUES w/ .75 so I think I may just stick w/ it until Official Upgrades come down the pike from VZW.
If you upgrade your BB through DM while connected to your work (physically there or VPN) mail system, you should not need a new PW for activation. I have upgraded my phone several times and it works just fine as long as I am connected to the mail system.

The DM will not find .86 because it is a beta OS not released for public use by the carriers yet. You have to go out and find the link on your own (try your favorite search engine) and download it to your computer first. Then, use the search function here in this forum for step by step directions on how to install a beta OS. Good luck!

Default Thinking about rolling back.... from .86

Well.. I have been able to deal with the LED issue, but over the last few days, I have had to do numerous battery pulls to correct a variety of lockups and/or SIM Card Errors.

I saw something about .87... I will go read up on it... but otherwise I am going back to .85. It was far better than any of the possible benefits of .86.

This is not a rant or a complaint... just a statement. I am always thankful for the brave souls that post the betas. And it is on me to try something that is not "official". I accept the risk happily.

----edit----

I also would like to add that there have been numerous times where, after using the phone for something... anything... that the screen would not "turn off". There were times that I could "lock" the screen and then the screen would turn off, but most of the time, the only resolution was to do a battery pull.

Since my original post (about 12 hours ago) I have pulled out my SIM card. I have obviously not had the SIM card error, I have however had to do a battery pull because of the previously mentioned "screen-staying-on" problem.

I have Facebook, Weatherbug, GoogleTalk and ScreenLock running most of the time.

Anyone having this issue?

Storm vibrates in the holster, indicating that I have an email/sms/bb message and when I pull it out of the holster, it automatically opens them email and the screen freezes, requiring a battery pull to get it to work again?

No haven't had that one.

The two I can report are:

1) After recording multiple Voicenotes, the VN menu states *No VNs recrded*, even though I can see them when browsing my phone through Desktop Mgr.

2) No red LED flash after a new voicemail, sms or email.

Can anyone else confirm these? As I just got my storm, I don't know if these issues are the OS or the device itself. (I'm on .83, but just wondering if other VZ .8x users are getting this - and a demo storm at the VZW store i checked yesterday also did not show any recorded Voicenotes after saving a few.)

The most annoying thing is a freeze when I am having bbm conversations and the screen autodims. Once I hit the screen it comes back up, but everything is frozen and thats another battery pull. If i go back to the home screen while having a break between conversations, no freeze.

I just started having a problem where my Text Messages would not send, kept giving me a network error. I downgraded to .85 and problem solved.

This build has been pretty stable for me, except for the already noted problem of LED flashing blue/red after disconnecting from bluetooth device.

I've had .86 for about 36 hours now and have been sending texts all day and haven't noticed this.

From my initial uses, .86 feels slightly more stable than .85, but only slightly.

Maybe I missed it, but is there anything to do to fix this other than the obvious battery pull?

Nope, battery pull is the fix.
