So far, I like .99 much better than .90. The only gripe I have is that I seem to have a memory leak. After a battery pull I'm at 45megs of application memory. After running word mole, it drops down to the 30's, amd after about a day, free app memory dips into the teens. I have very few 3rd party apps (facebook, myspace, google maps) but for the purposes of my test I didn't open any of them. Anyone else have the same problem?

I had the same problem when I upgraded to .90. I uninstalled WeatherBug and that fixed the problem. I later reinstalled WeatherBug, but the problem did not come back.

I think something about the situation was causing WeatherBug to keep the GPS turned on, and the GPS was what was actually draining the battery.

However, it's just a good habit to be in.

Its a good habit indeed! My storm is very stable just like .85 but with better speed. Typing has gotten a little slower but I can live with that. Battery life does seem a little shorter but to counter that I have the screen dim out in 10 seconds.

I am with you on this. Every upgrade I am fall in love and everything works great for a day or two. Then the random reboots start. 5-6 a day. Frustrating...

I have had 99 installed since Monday and I have encountered no real problems. No reboots, no uncaught exceptions, nothing. The only thing I have noticed is that occasionally the keyboard characters do not always line up on the vertical axis of the button. For example sometimes the QWERT are lower on the button than the YUIOP. If it happens again I will try for a screen shot. While the previous item is not my imagination, I "think" that the letters themselves look like a slightly lower resolution than the boxed OS which was 76. The !?123 look a little less readable than before. Like I said though I could be dreaming that one.

My Storm seems to have gotten better recently, I don't think I've had an unexpected reboot in the last 3-4 days now, and I've been using the phone a lot more than normal.

This is what I mean about some of the letters being lower on their respective buttons than others. Z X C are this way in this screen shot but it has also occurred on Q W E R. Both are intermittent however.

OS = operating system

its really pretty easy to upgrade the OS, id never done it until going from .75 to .99 (and now to .109) but basically:

find a link for the new beta OS via google. download it. (usually takes 15 minutes to an hour)
then just double click it and install it on your cpu.
towards the end...it asks if u want to open Desktop Manager
at this point, plug in your storm to the CPU and follow the instructions.
eventually youll get to a screen where u can click "options" do this and make sure the box for automatically creating a back up is checked (u must do this...very important!).
click finish, and the cpu will get it done for ya!

here is the link for the crackberry instructions also...
