Default Can't Sync Outlook Notes

Please Login to Remove!

I have the BB Bold 9780. I just loaded the new Desktop OS. It said that it was no longer using Intellisync to sync between the BB and Outlook, and loaded the new sync utility. I run Outlook 2007 on Windows 7, 64 bit.

My calendar and my contacts sync'd properly, but crashed when it tried to sync Notes. The message reads "ColTransBase: FillDefFolderInfo Unable to get default folder for Notes"

As far as I know, everything in Outlook is loaded in its default location, so I can't explain why BB would have problems finding it. Suggestions?

The error may indicate the folder does not exist or the folder has no data.
Try adding a new folder and check to see where it goes.

Dear TSAC:

Sorry. I gave you some wrong information, so your suggestion didn't work.

I currently have 32 notes in Outlook, so I knew the folder wasn't empty. However, when I added a new note - to see where it was saved - it was saved somewhere other than the normal default location for Outlook.

The default location seems to be: c:\Users\{User Name}\App Data\Local\Microsoft

My data is actually stored in a folder located at: C:\Backup Data\Office\Archive Files - This is a custom location which I created for an automatic data backup program - to save copies of all of my data files from a single general folder location.

So. The new sync program finds my calendar and contacts in this custom location - but doesn't find my Notes/Memos in this location. How can I tell the Sync program where to find the Notes/Memos?

I cannot seem to download DM 6.1 documentation but there is a way of changing the default locations. Try going to RIM support site for the Doc's and check page 20 to 22

Still no luck.

The 6.1 docs refer to a change between multiple calendars. That's not my problem. I can't find anything in the 6.1 docs about problems syncing Outlook memos.

I think that the new desktop that I just installed is 7.0???. Anyway, I know that it said that it was changing the Outlook sync engine from Intellisync to some new engine. The 6.1 documents don't make any reference to the new sync engine.

I've gone through all of the Advanced Options and Configure settings in the Desktop software, and I don't find any path options or settings there either. So, if changing the path information on my memos is what I need to do, I still need help finding instructions on how to do so.

Thanks.

There have been several threads on Desktop Manager 7 and problems syncing.
All have suggested removing DM 7 and reinstalling DM 6.1.
