How do you have the numbers saved? Do you have all ten digits? Do you have a +1 added in front of the number?

if you have the phone number saved in your phonebook under your friend's name -and- another name or just another entry where the number is saved by itself then that is the cause. search your phone book for this phone number and see if its saved in your phone book under more than 1 entry.

OK currently I am in training in Saudi Arabia, I got my Att unbranded bold with me using a local provider. When i get sms from cell phone numbers here in saudi which they start by (0) I don't get the contact name. what I get is +966....... basically i get the country code then the number of the cell number that sent the sms. All contacts are saved to my phone book no double entry and no numbers in my sim card. However when sending sms i get the contact name under my sent sms.

The number that you receive the SMS from must exactly match the number you have listed in your address book.

For example, if the number you received a message from is +46 700 00 1234 then your address book must have the same exact number or else it won't match the number. So in your case you'd have to save the number as +966... etc in your address book.

This happens to me all the time. My SMS messages come to me as +46... but when they call me it shows up starting with the 0 (no country code), so if I want to know who is calling me I have to add both variations of the phone number.
