That is simply not true. I have had my Bold2 (9700 w/ OS 5.x) for about 6 weeks now... I loaded Google Maps as soon as I got the phone - nary a single issue. There may have been an issue with Google Maps Mobile and OS 5.x early on in the OS 5.x dev cycle, but it certainly wasn't an issue that has just been resolved in the past two weeks. Please do some research before making blanket statements like that...

I thought people understood beginning a sentence with "I believe" was an opinion or guessing statement. All I know is when I tried to download it first it kept telling me on my phone that it did not support my OS. The third time I tried to download it I went through the same process and it finally D/L'ed. I'm not saying that was the TS's problem, I'm simply stating my own problem that was similar.
AT&T BB 9700 - Google Maps Wont Work - ATT Restricts
I just bought a new AT&T Blackberry 9700. I tried to load Google Maps yesterday only to run into a message which says Crossover Communications Prohibited. I called AT&T and spoke with a technician for BB. He tells me that AT&T has Navigator loaded on all its phones whereby any other type of maps like Google will not work. Isn't this unfair trade and monopoly? Anyone have an idea how to load Google where we dont have to pay AT&T $9.99 per month for navigational services.
