Well, theres the contradiction.
To release an OS that all current (bar one) devices cannot use, would seem to be stupid; yet if OS 6 requires 512MB, and it will be released to 256MB devices; then its not going to run particularly well.
We're just gonna have to wait for details.

I'd consider the Tour the worst as well.. I lacked so many featured for be released well after the Bold 9000. Very disappointing.. I even skipped this one LOL.
We had rumors of the Tour2 barely one month after it's initial release.

Just think about how far BlackBerries have come from then till now... And what else is coming.

Sigh. I didn't know the deal about a 512MB requirement, or the rumor that it is a requirement, or whatever. I was still living in the world where the 9700 would be running it one day.
I had more problems on my Tour than on any other BlackBerry I've ever owned. I don't know if it RIM's worst device, but it was definitely MY worst device!
What I'm hearing is that OS 6 will indeed be only for devices with 512MB of internal memory, but models like the 9700 will get updated versions of 5.0 that will include *some* of the features of OS 6. But it will not get a version of OS 6.
I haven't had that many issues with my tour. Track ball getting stuck...but other then that work as well as my 9700 I use for work! And I would have to agree with kurichan storm before major os update had been the worst blackberry experience I'd had to date! Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
I thought I read that in terms of getting the new OS, the fact that the 256 MB 9700 was getting it was impacted by it having a trackpad as opposed to a trackball in terms of memory. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile
