Help needed : Uninstalling some modules

Hi,
Can someone direct me to the address of the thread where uninstalling the unwanted modules are explained? ( I want to remove or stop from installing some of the applications that I will never use : AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Weather, Certificate Verifier, etc.)
I think there was a thread but couldn't find through search module of the forum, or did not enter the proper words. Sorry if repeated.
