Default "Keep Messages" settings 7250, BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, I have a 7250 4.0 and BES 4.0.1 for Exchange SP1hf3.

My question is with the "Keep Messages" setting in the messsaging general options of the 7250. Mine is currently set for 30 days which I belive is the default. I've only had the unit for a couple weeks. Does that setting mean that after 30 days the messages (30 day old) will be deleted from the 7250? Will the message (assming it is an email) will also be deleted from the Exchange server?

Seperately it seems that I cannot find a document from RIM that clearly explains what each of the 7250 options do. Am I missing somthing?

Thanks All

It means message over 30 days old will be removed from the device. They will NOT be deleted from your mailbox on exchange, however.

Not sure what options you would be talking about but 4.0 has online help now. That may give you some information.

Thank You,

I have downloaded the full user guide and quick start guide for the 7250 version 4. I didn't see anything explaining the "Keep Messages" option. Another example would be "What is a level 1 message?" I'm sure someone in this forum could answer that, but where in the documentation is that explained.

I looked in the online help but didn't come up with much.

Thanks again for your help.

You can use Level 1 messages to change the way Blackberry Wireless handhelds sends alerts when a new message is received.
The difference between Level 1 messages and regular messages is Level 1 messages are bolded in the Message list. They may also be configured for a different notifcation type.
