Default "Blackberry" Prompt

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

Would anyone happen to know how I can stop the user from having to type in "blackberry" after one incorrect password. I have tried changing:

Password Policy Grouop -> Set Maximum Password Attempts to 10

I would also like to change the default value of 3 attemps before the device gets wiped to 10. I assumed the above policy did this aswell but the users still only have 3 attempts.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Lee

Default Policy

I don't think it is possible to alter that. Part of the BB OS.

Wirelessly posted (8820)

I think the OP's questions is really about how to change the allowed number of attempts to 10. He has tried, but it is still set to 3.

(I don't know.)

Sounds like there is a duress email set in the IT policy. This would automatically halve the total number of allowable incorrect attempts.

Hi, there is no Duress Notification Address set. In Password Policy group I only have "set max password attempts" & Max Password History set to 10, nothing else is entered.

If I am now able to chance this setting, surely I can change the amount of attems alloud before the device is wiped... there is even that option "max password attempts" currently after 3 bad attemps the device gets wiped?

Thanks

Are you absolutely sure the IT Policy is being successfully applied to the device?

Have you checked the actual setting on the handheld. I think setting the 'Max Password Attempts' in the IT Policy only allows the user to increase it to that maximum number. If the setting on the handheld is set at 3 when the It Policy is changed, it will remain at that until the user increases the number on the handheld.
