Default Next Verizon Blackberry?

What is the next Blackberry that is going to be coming out for Verizon? I've read reports that the Niagara could be coming out as early as May, but I've also seen some contradicting reports as well.

If what I read is correct, the Tour is a World Edition phone with a camera correct? I would definitely upgrade from my 8830 for this. Plus it appears that the keys have a little space between them, that is a little aggravating for me, the 8830 keys are too close for my fat fingers.

I've also heard that the Niagra will be out in June/July. Yes, it will have a camera (3.2MP)

It will be a great update.. It will be great to get one of these next gen BB's (with a physical keyboard ) but more and more applications are beginning to start using Wifi... I really hope we can get wifi on CDMA sometime soon.

But I would definitely upgrade to the 9630!!

There will be a camera. They all have it now. Except 88xx and lower.

With the exception of the 8350i. They released a version with and one without a camera.

Some business and many government facilities forbid carrying a camera. When your phone is a camera creates a problem.

Companies can deactive the phone's camera now, they do it at my company for the Curves.

The problem with this approach is that unless you have a corporate blackberry you cant take advantage of that feature. Additionally, a lot of places I have seen won't accept "the camera is disabled".

I can't understand why RIM is approaching phones this way. The currently have the in with government phones as most government agencies are providing Verizon blackberries to their employees. It seems they are ignoring a large segment of their market share by not creating a new camera-less phone for Verizon. I would think Verizon would be pushing this as well.

I've heard some talk of providing different backs for the blackberries that cover up the camera.

I could see that.. but I imagine employers will still have a problem with it.

Depending how strick they are.

Default Change your Company Policy on Cameras

I was able to successfully convince my company (1200 person Defense Contractor) to change its policy on Phones with Cameras.

We instituted an "Acceptable Use Policy" for Phones with Cameras.

Employees are allowed to have Phones with Cameras but are not allowed to use the camera on company property for any reason. Violation can lead to dismissal.

Visitors are not allowed to have Phones with Cameras for any reason.

Neither Phones, or Phones with Cameras are allowed in "classified" areas.
