Default Lost all Calender Data (did the search)

Please Login to Remove!

How would I loose all my appointments. I have a 2gb media card that has 1.5 free. yes my photos and everything else media wise saves to the card. My phone is mostly stock and this is the 2nd time this has happened. I did the search and I do not believe this is a memory issue. So what else could it be. Would a soft reset have anything to do with it. I do not want to reload all my appointments just to have it happen again. Is this what is being referred to as a memory leak?? Any help would be appreciated.

I should note that I use a Mac and do not sync, backup or use desk top Mgr. as Mac is not supported. This is not good!

Calendar entries are stored on the device memory and not on the SD card. So it doesn't matter how much is free on the media card. Checkout this link on how to free up memory on your BlackBerry.

Mac is supported with either PocketMac or MissingSync. Check out the MAC Users Corner.

That is your memory. With 20mb, you should not be having a problem, and besides, let me assure you, you would be the first i am aware of that has lost calendar items from the memory leak issue. I don't think that is your problem.

You can (and absolutley must) sync and back up your BB.

So why are you losing your calendar appointments? I don't understand why. On your BB, please go to the Calendar > Options > scroll to the bttom of the page--what number is next to Number of Entries?

Default Memory

OK I just did all the memory functions in this link above and now I get these numbers. i should note that I only had about 15 small appointments in calender before they disappeared.
Now I have File Free of 20463968. like i said, I don't think it's a memory shortage.

Default Zero

JB, just did as you asked. The number is zero (0) for number of entries. That's what I'm telling you, they are gone. I had maybe 20 old ones and 10 to 15 appointments in the future. all the appointment were just like a Dr's name at a specific time. Nothing memory gulping.

I don't think it is a memory issue either. Since you don't sync, you couldn't have deleted them accidentally via a sync-gone-wrong.

I don't know. First I have heard of self-deleting calendar entries.

Default 2nd time

This is the second time this has happened and i have never sync to computer. I just downloaded pocketmac and will start doing that but it does not fix my problem. If it were one of you guys (as I am an old fart) what would you do. Contact BB, AT&T ??? Really love the phone and I just got it all set up the way I want it.

Wirelessly posted (8310: BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

This happened to me yesterday. I pulled the battery and they all came back.

Dunk, I'd be trying that fast as you can. Leave the BB powered on, and remove the battery, replace and let it reboot.

Otherwise, yes, you can contact your carrier and politely suggest they escalate the issue to RIM.

Default Update

OK, so far no luck at all. I called AT&T customer service and they told me that it sounded like a Blackberry issue and not an AT&T issue. Never mind that it is only 6 or 7 weeks old. So I called Blackberry and they told me that because I downloaded 3rd party software (ringtones) that I probably voided my warranty but to go back to AT&T and see what they say.
Today I went to my AT&T store where I bought the phones and 2 year contract. They checked the phone for water damage, scratches etc and found it to be pristine. I do not abuse my equipment. Trell at AT&T was a nice guy but told me to call Blackberry Warranty which is where I called already. SOOOOO from AT&T to Blackberry to AT&T back to Blackberry. AT this point I just don't know. I must say although I got no help anywhere everyone was very polite.

Default On going

OK, 12-13-07 I called AT&T warranty department and found a sympathetic ear. He sent me out a replacement and even shipped it over night. How great is that? Soooooe today 12-14-07 FedEX is at the door with new (to me) phone. I swithed the sim and media card and start setting up the ringtones etc. phoe shuts off and starts rebooting. Blew it off and started entering some new contacts, phone shuts off and starts rebooting. it did this 4 times in an hour. SOOOOE i called Warranty department and there sending out another new to me phone..
Now i have read alot of problems with the Curve (8310) bout does anyone know what percentage of phones actually have a problem. Am I just the most unlucky customer or what. Love the phone but i am seriously starting to question my choice. We'll see what number 3 acts like.

Thanks for the update. I don't think anyone here will know what percentage of units actually have a problem.

How soon did you start using the new BB you got Fedex, was it fully charged?

Default Immediately

When they send a replacement you only get the phone. No battery sim card etc. So i put my 95% battery and sim card in and it came on like it was supposed to. Then for some reason it just rebooted and was fine. Then I started entering and playing and it did it 3 more times in less than an hour.

I was really just asking for opinions on the Curve and especially the 8310. Like I said just second guessing myself on my choice and looking for moral support

I have the 8310 and have had no problems. I loaded a new OS on it when I got it, so I cannot compare with the ATT-issued OS. Mine has only self-rebooted like once or twice in the three-week period.

In Calendar -> Options, scroll to the bottom and see Keep Appointments. What is that set to? I just realized today that alot of my old calendar data items were deleted as well but realized after seeing this, that was the reason why!

Default Forever

I have mine set to keep them forever. These weren't all old calender entries. Some were appointments in the future. Why would it be ok for a phone to self reboot 2 or 3 times itself. That should not happen at all!
