Default Buttons wearing internal screen

Please Login to Remove!

Ok, according to T-Mobile this is not a known issue, I am on my third 8220 and on everyone the buttons around the pearl wear scratches into the screen.

I have had my latest only a week and the scratches are already showing up.

The phone does not sit in my pocket, always in a case, am I the only one that notices this issue?! seems like a bad design.

I assumed this would happen so I applied a screen protector on the internal screen... and even though the protector is scratch by those buttons, the LCD screen is untouched so I can sell it like new...

My advice... put a screen protector

I have done the same and put a screen protector on. I'm on my second one now as the first one became too scratched. So I can imagine without one, the screen gets ruined pretty quickly

you would think that with as big of a name as they are RIM would avoid this happening, shouldnt have to buy a screen protector, those things drive me nuts. The one I have is a week old and already scratched! T-Mobile just told me a little while ago that they cant send me another BB they can only replace it with a Shadow.

Agree with the others, a screen protector will help here. This is an issue with most flip phones. Check out a RAZR that has been used for a while.

Never had this issue with a flip phone, and i have been through a few of them. But i agree that this thing is bound to happen, but not after a week!

Wirelessly posted

Are you charging the phone closed? Always charge a flip phone open because the heat from the keypad can burn into the screen. - Just one of many suggestions.
